BABETTE BLOCH

The laser-cut stainless steel sculpture of Babette Bloch starts with drawings in black and white. The drawings are then scanned into a computer which directs a computer-driven laser beam to precisely cut the forms she wants out of flat sheets of stainless steel placed on a laser bed. Works are then sand-blasted, surface textured, painted for wall display or made into 3-dimensional works through the use of industrial welding and shaping equipment.
